Louis Tomlinson, British singer-songwriter, first began working with Syco during his days in the famous boyband ‘One Direction’ with Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Harry Styles. The group allegedly signed a contract worth £2 million with the company after coming in as a runner-up on the shows seventh season of X-Factor UK. Zayn Malik left the band on March 25, 2015.
However, the band continued as four releasing their fifth and last album ‘Made In The AM’ before going on a hiatus. Following the group’s hiatus in 2016, Louis remained with the company and recorded several singles including ‘Just Hold On’ and ‘Back To You’, before his debut album ‘Walls’ was released in January.
The singer also appeared as a judge on Simon’s competition show The X Factor in 2018, acting as a mentor to the ‘Boys’ category and his mentee Dalton Harris went on to win the show.
Louis Tomlinson has left Simon Cowell’s record label Syco, after a decade of working together, he announced in a statement on Saturday. The singer, 28, is said to have parted ways with the company following a ‘mutual agreement’, five months after the release of his album ‘Walls’. Taking to Twitter to issue a statement, Louis wrote: ‘Hope everyone is doing ok! Just wanted to let you know that Syco Music and I have agreed to part ways. ‘I’m really excited for the future and to be back in the studio writing the next album. Can’t wait to finally see you all on tour!! Stay safe and see you soon, Louis x’
