The ‘Muni’ franchise has been a very pouplar one here in TamilNadu starring Raghava Lawrence. The second film in the franchise called ‘Kanchana’ also became an instant hit. The film starred Lawrence, Raai Laxxmi, Kovai Sarala, Sarathkumar and Devadharshini. The films sequel ‘Kanchana 2’ had Taapsee Pannu and Nithya Menon playing the female leads. The third part ‘Kanchana 3’ had Vedika, Oviya and Nikki Tamboli and Ri Djavi Alexandra in lead roles. Kovai Sarala, Soori, Tarun Arora, and Kabir Duhan Singh play supporting roles.
It was reported that the remake of ‘Kanchana’ would star Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani and directed by Lawrence. Keeping in mind the on-going pandemic situation, the producers have decided to release the film on Disney+Hotstar along with Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Pooja Bhatt starrer ‘Sadak 2’. This film is the sequel to Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Sadak’ that starred Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt,Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Neelima Azeem, Deepak Tijori, Soni Razdan and Pankaj Dheer.
